Faint Murmurings

If you believe in faeries,
then most assuredly they
dwell in our wild places.
Our woodlands, our meadows,
our ponds, lakes and streams,
our oceans and our skies.
They, like the places they inhabit
are things of fragile beauty,
and as our wild places diminish,
what unseen magic will also
become a thing of beauty gone

Ethereal, playful, magical, delicate, enchanting and beguiling, full of mischief and wonder.
Creatures that have all too often, been misrepresented as merely fanciful whimsy.
But in reality faeries are so much more than that...
They represent the unseen, elusive and feral force of nature.
Inextricably linked to the environment, they are the keepers of our wild places.
They cherish the untouched and the untamed and as our planet earth suffers
from the recklessness of the modern world, they too suffer.
If we listen very closely to the faeries faint murmurings,
we will hear their urgings and know that they wish for us
to return to a time of reverence for our natural world.
It is truly folly to ignore the quiet pleads from the realm of Faerie,
for what wonders and magic await,
if only we mortals be wise enough to Believe.
